Question by Mexican American: NFL Sunday Ticket on DIRECT-TV?! Is it worth a hoot?
How is the NFL Sunday Ticket?

direct tv is offering it to me for 64.99 for 4 months. it also includes the premeir package which is over 250 channels (the top package they offer) and the remainder of the NASCAR hotpass season too (which I dont really care much about). anyways.. so i get all that plus the NFL sunday ticket this year. should I sign up? im on charter cable right now and its ok. id like to see more nfl games but is this sunday ticket worth it?

is it in Hi-Defintion also?

If you watch out of town teams, it is a requirement. A lot cheaper and more convenient than going to a musty sports bar every sunday and listening to everyone else cheer, etc.

HD is $ 999 extra for all games, not worth it for me.

This is a personal choice as well as a financial one. If you really like football that much then yes, it’s worth it. But think about it logically: unless your a self-made millionaire, you probably won’t have the time to watch EVERY game. I love football but I couldn’t really see paying for Direct TV. I do believe that it is offered in HD but don’t quote me on that. Overall, in my own opinion, it’s not really worth it. Good luck and enjoy the season!

I live in Panama, but originally from the States. My first year in Panama, I could only get 1-2 games on Sundays and that was only if they were not pre-empted by soccer , so I ordered Sunday Ticket my second year here and got every pre-season and regular season game for every team. I also got to watch all the play-off games including the super bowl, not on Sunday Ticket, but Direct TV offered more ESPNs so I never missed anything. To me it was worth every penny.

I have had Sunday ticket for six years. It is worth every penny. I am a Colts fan living in St. Louis though, so it is the only way I can see every Colts game on Sunday. I love being able to flip through and watch a little bit of every game every week.

Direct TV has excellent customer service too. Ask them to give you a free DVR if you sign up, it is the best way to watch football.

Short answer — Oh yeah, it’s worth it.

    Longer answer…

If you’re a diehard fan of one team — and it’s your local team — then maybe it isn’t. I’ve had MLB Extra Innings for years because I’m a big Yankee fan and I don’t live in the area, so I’m out of luck when it comes to their games. But if I still lived in NYC, I wouldn’t have it.

    But back to football…

I just subscribed to the Sunday Ticket this year and honestly have to say I’m floored by what an amazing job they do with it. Still, it’s not cheap.

There are a couple sites I found when I was looking into it that might help you out. This one gives a pretty detailed answer to the “Is it worth it?” question:

And this one gives more of an overview of the service and what you can expect from it:

P.S. Yes, a lot of it is in HD.
