World Tour – German Red Cabbage recipe

Yields: 4 to 6 servings Ingredients: 2 tbsp. butter 1 large onion, thinly sliced 1 2lb. red cabbage, shredded 1 tart apple, sliced 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar 3 tbsp. water ½ cup brown sugar 2 ½ tsp. salt ½ tsp. pepper ¼ tsp. cloves Preparation Directions: ~ Heat butter in a large pot, sauté onion until soft. Add cabbage, apples, and sugar; pour vinegar and water over mixture. Season with salt pepper and cloves. ~ Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 1 ½ to 2 hours or until cabbage is tender.

    @leapingfroglady Usually apple cidar vinegar, but you can use red wine vinegar or sherry vinegar or champagne vinegar. It’s up to you.?
