@cameljoe04 We all know he did, did you read MIchael Waltrip’s book?
@kharvrules29 a closed face helmet would have saved dales life thats it thats all..the hans device while a great safety measure would not have protected dale from the face and head injury’s like the close face helmet ..dale basically cracked his head open on the steering wheel …go to find a death.com they show the insides of the car…dales head bent the wheel because of the impact !
@Stanky2000 of course dale was dead on impact no chance of survival in racing the way you can tell death is easy..if the ems is in a dash to the hospital then there’s a chance for survival ..if its moving at like 20 30 mph then death has already happen if you look and jeff hammond and ken s..you could tell they knew dale was gonna..plus after that they medical crew put that blue tarp of the car !
@erzeszut hans device yes is true..but end the end what could have saved him though was a close face helmet he basically cracked his head on the steering wheel …if he has a closed face helmet he only has broken ribs ..
@videosrock508 they have pictures of the inside of the car on find a death .com shit was horrible dales blood was every were and the steering wheel was bent !
This was a sad day. Dale Earnhardt was a larger then life figure. I remember growing up seeing that black number 3 tearing up the track. He was one of my heros growing up. Here was a man who raced with so much heart and determination. I was in college when he died and I just knew after he died, NASCAR would never be the same. Its still not the same
Ken Schrader’s expression and demeanor says it all. Such a tragic and bittersweet moment. I miss Rockingham… And 10 years later the Simpsons is still on TV and all those other shows not!
Source: Encyclopedia Britannica: Vol. 16 Climate and Weather originally after seeing that I felt a bit strange so I looked at that b00k to see if that’s science. And i found that.
@jstrahan2 I originally thought it was a 3 or E but when I saw it closely i think that’s not an E. Beside the three main forms, sometimes cloud can make other coincidental forms, like rabbits, E, etc. That’s a combination of cirrus or stratus clouds, which sometimes merge together.

he died on impact, his chin hit the lower bar of the steering wheel. it was a basilar skull fracture. he hit it so hard that it bent the steering wheel forward, and what schrader saw wasnt clean. it wouldve been very graphic.
To me you can tell Ken Shrader knew that Dale had died, but was classy enough not to say anything or speculate. You can hear his voice crackling when he talks about getting out of the way of the medical staff.
Earnhardt was dead early on, I think. The shots of the ambulance slowly driving towards the Hospital point to that. If there was any chance of saving his life, they would have been moving a LOT faster.
@kharvrules29 It has been proven, several times, that the seat belt did NOT break. That was NASCAR trying to pin the blame on Simpson Manufacturing, which was despicable. Dale may have been wearing it loose, as was his custom, but it restrained him on impact, as evidenced by the broken ribs and torso contusions he suffered.
The HANS device certainly could have saved his life — it’s designed to restrain the head and prevent basal skull fractures. We’ll never know for sure.
I’ve heard from a friend who worked at the track on that day that Ken Schrader told Jeannie Zelasko, off-air and off the record, that Earnhardt was absolutely dead, no chance of survival. Fox didn’t report it (to their credit) during the postgame wrapup, since it wasn’t confirmed. But Schrader and the rescue workers who saw him knew that Earnhardt had no chance.
here is something I noticed.Dale won his first 500 in 98, 3 years later he died, 3 weeks later Harvick won in Dales’s car,3 years later Dale Jr. won the 500, 3 years later Harvick won the 500, and 3 years later an Earnhardt-Ganassi car won the 500.I wonder whats gonna happen in 2013.

Kenny KNEW THEN AND THERE !!!
@international153 i also could tell he was acting strange too
the birds are taking him to heaven at 3:17
Am I the only one who misses the Fox theme song in the last 30 seconds of this video?
RIP, Dale.

@ChristianCocaine I agree,in fact if you look closely at the wreck, Sterling didnt even make contact with Dale.

Dales seatbelt broke and caused his head to strike foward and hit the steering wheel. It lead to a cardiac arrest. RIP Dale
@JJHBPD420
wow, that is amazing.
ken was so nervous…
