Matt Kenseth Daytona 500 Victory Lane 2009

May 7, 2011

Matt Kenseth’s Victory Lane interview after winning the 2009 Daytona 500. Congratulations to Matt, the #17 team, and Jack Roush on their amazing victory. It was a race for the ages…

On the TV show “LIVE with Regis and Kelly” 2/17/2009, Matt Kenseth is interviewed by Regis and Joy Philbin regarding his win at the NASCAR Daytona 500 race 2/15/2009. Notice his humility as he keeps trying to duck the question of how much money he earned. His humility plus his tearful expression of thanks for the Lord giving him the opportunity to race are why I am one of his fans. Cheesehead heck yeah. Favre bleck. but Kenseth will always be my favorite even after he retires. I’ll root for someone else that will be racing at the time but I’ll still always be a Kenseth fan

I agree, but to give credit to all to whom it is due, Regis makes $10 million a year because of the broad scope of his knowledge and the connections he has made in 50+ years in the entertainment industry. He has been an accomplished tennis player, but car racing is, as you said, outside his area of expertise. He does own one car, but his wife is not impressed with his driving.

I credit Kenseth for maintaining his composure while being interviewed by people with no clue of what they are talking about!!
