I agree. All all the rule changes, and NASCAR playing favorites has just got me fired up.
Some weeks I think it is all a huge joke like pro- wrestling.
I wish it would go back to the way it was years ago.
Also, it seems there is NO loyalty at all. It is all about the almighty dollar. Just look at Joe Nemechek, Sterling Marlin and all of their team members that just lost thier jobs. Makes me sick.
I still love it. I love going to races. There’s nothing like being there for the National Anthem and seeing the planes fly over.
I agree and I love as well , but going to a commercial every single time there is a caution or not is getting ridiculous. I find myself channel surfing and not coming back for a while and even then sometimes just to check the standings.
lisaann makes an great point. There’s no loyalty in NASCAR any more, it’s only about the almighty dollar. The last of the Good Ol’ Boys, Sterling Marlin (who I will admit, is my favorite driver) was dumped for some unproven young gun, along with Front Row Joe. I understand why we need commercials, but I think the marketing is going a little overboard, especially with everyone wanting to sign a “Young Gun.” I’m 25 years old, and I prefer the older drivers! Give me Sterling, Kyle Petty, Dale Jarrett, and Ken Schrader over Jimmie Johnson and the Busch Brothers any day! The veterans can be just as marketable.
Yes i totally agree I mean.. so many commercials I cant even watch .. try directvs hotpass I LOVE IT
It’s all about the money.
They’re getting more and more greedy, and this is probably why they lose tv ratings.
Ppl are getting tired of all the bs and inconsistancy and rule changes and the “gray” area of the rule book, and so on and so on.
It is getting harder to watch, but I’m a diehard fan, and will more than likely put up with whatever they do. Sadly.
One thing you need to remember is that it isn’t Nascar that is going to commercial all of the time but the TV Network that is hosting the program. Of course the reason they go to commercial so much is to cover the cost of the funds they have to pay Nascar each year for the priviledge of being the carrier of choice.
Another thing, you can hardly blame Nascar because some guys are out of a job when it is the team owners who made the decision. I am not saying that Nascar is always correct but at least they think they are.
At least ESPN wasn’t a big commercial fest like TNT was. But i am impressed with the way Espn is coveri9ng the races now, they have a new thing called draft track, which is great because they explain how it affects the car.
get your complaints to nascar, when they sign a bazillion dollar deal for the commercials and they are the ones responsible, get your letters to them make them change things.
The sad truth is, NASCAR likes its money and cares little what we think about it. Ever since NASCAR gained the new tv package back in 2001 and its restructuring of its image to be more corporate friendly, the sport has felt pretty hollow. I miss the days were things didn’t feel so manufactured like they do now. But hey thats what corporate america is good at.
